The Greenhouse Energy Guide Simulator is a an online tool for calculating the effects of different (combinations of) renewable energy sources on the environmental foodprint, expressed in energy consumption, crop performance, variable costs and environmental impactCO2-emission according to the European Union Emissions Trading System (EU ETS).

Users can create a digital twin of an existing greenhouse or design a future greenhouse, for a range of different geographical locations and crops, where they can fully customize all available parameters greenhouse configuration and energy sources to their own insights.

The simulator can be used in 2 different modes:

  • Anonymous mode

  • Registered user mode

The anonymous mode is available without registration and allows users anyone to create and simulate a scenario, where the last results are compared to the previous resultsscenarios, with an overview of the results of the last and previous previous simulation. Anonymous users are able to change basic model parameters onlythe basic scenario parameters where defaults are used for the advanced parameters.

Registererd users can create, save and compare multiple scenarios and have access to the advanced model scenario parameters.

In the anonymous mode the initial screen shows drowdown lists where a crop and location can be selected for creating a scenario.

Registered users must logon first with the “lock” button at the top right and enter

Once logged on, the main screen appears with the saved scenarios list on the left. Next step is to create a new scenario with the ADD button.
