Vezelhennep is een vezelgewas en valt als zodanig momenteel Fibre hemp is defined as a fibre and oleaginous crop and as such it currently (2023) in de Eco-regeling. Onder voorwaarden is dit een extra betaling bovenop de basispremie.[1] Regelingen veranderen echter regelmatig; daarom aanbevolen om actuele regelingen uit te zoeken via RVO (Gemeenschappelijk landbouwbeleid, GLB) en/of via de afnemer c.q. teeltbegeleider.
Hoewel hennep voor textiel in een transitie van pilots naar commerciële opschaling zit, zijn de prijzen voor lange hennep- (en vlas)vezels momenteel (2023) hoog.
